Bamrauli Airport - Allahabad All India States Tempo Traveller

Overview

The Allahabad Airport or the Bamrauli Airport is owned by the Indian Air Force, and is operated by the Airports Authority of India (AAI), under the control of Civil Aviation Training College, Bamrauli. It is located 12 km from Allahabad city center and provides domestic flight services. The airport was built in 1919 and had direct flights to London, till 1932. It served as an international airport till 1946. It was basically an army airport, which was opened for civil aviation purposes in 2013, when a civil enclave managed by the AAI was formed. In 2017, the Govt. of Uttar Pradesh, in conjunction with the Govt. of India and AAI, has committed to building a new greenfield airport for Allahabad.
