Book VIP Darshan Tickets at Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Varanasi

If you’ve ever walked through the busy streets of Varanasi, you can probably agree that the city has its own living heartbeat. It’s not just the noise or the people, it is something deeper than that. At the center of it all is Kashi Vishwanath Temple. For many people, visiting this temple is not just a religious experience, it can feel like returning home to something divine.

There is just one problem, the lines. Some people can wait hours only to spend a few seconds in the temple. It can be frustrating.

This is where VIP Darshan at Kashi Vishwanath Varanasi comes into play. It is not about cutting the line, it’s about having a smoother, more peaceful way to experience the temple.

In this article, we will cover how to book VIP Darshan, what to expect from the experience, and some easy tips to help ensure that your visit is truly unforgettable.

काशी के कण-कण में शिव का वास है, यहाँ हर श्वास में भक्ति का एहसास है।

What Is a VIP Darshan?

A VIP Darshan ticket allows you to bypass the large general queue and take a shorter, quicker route inside the temple! This is ideal for elderly devotees, those with restricted time, or people who prefer a quieter experience and don’t want to be squished by crowds.

You don’t get any extra rituals or VIP experience – simply just quicker entrance and a more enjoyable darshan.

How to Reach the Temple?

By Train

Distance from Train Station: Approximately 4 km.

Transportation: Auto-rickshaws, cabs, or Uber are easily available from outside the station.

Final Approach: Vehicles drop off at Godowlia (500 m) or Maidagin (at least 1 km) from where you need to walk or take a rickshaw (for elderly) to reach the temple.

Important Tip: if you are coming with group then must book a Tempo traveller in Varanasi that will drop you Maidagin. It is good option instead of booking multiple vehicles. You can avail these services from Airport or Railway station too. Distance between Babatpur Airport and Kashi Vishwanath Temple is 24 km approx.

By Bus

Distance from Bus Stand: Varanasi has two main bus stations —

  • Varanasi Cantt (Roadways Bus Stand): Approx 4.5 km to the temple.
  • Lahartara Bus Stand: Approx. 8 to 9 km to the temple.

As mentioned above Autos, rickshaws and cabs are easily available right outside.

Tip: If you’re arriving with a big group, it’s better to pre-book a Bus on rent in Varanasi that drops you directly at Maidagin. This saves time and gives better coordination for darshan schedules.

What to Expect on Your Day of Visit

  • Arrive early, with a ticket you don’t need to arrive too early but even with a VIP ticket try to be here 30 minutes prior to your time slot.
  • Enter through the VIP Entry Gate – The guards will guide you, just show your e-ticket and ID proof.
  • Security checks: No mobile phones, leather items or bags are allowed inside. There are lockers available close by.
  • Darshan time: You will access through the faster route which normally takes 10–15 minutes to get in and will see the view clearly without the push from the crowd.

Pro Tips to Make Your Visit Better

  • Morning is better: If possible, book a morning slot, as the temple is less crowded and calmer.
  • Dress conservatively and comfortably: Wearing light cotton clothes is a great idea, particularly in summer.
  • Attending Ganga Aarti: After darshan, you can go to Dashashwamedh Ghat for the Ganga Aarti (the Aarti is pure magic), or any other famous ghats of Varanasi.
  • Book a local guide (optional): If you want to know more about the temple’s history and navigate the narrow lanes of Varanasi, a local guide can be very helpful.

  1. This was really helpful—especially the breakdown of gate-wise access and tips for smoother entry. One thing I’d add from personal experience is to arrive early in the morning for the VIP Darshan; the crowd is much more manageable and the overall experience feels more peaceful.
