Kochi Airport also known as The Cochin International Airport serves the city of Cochin, Kerala. It is located 25 km northeast of the city. This green airport is the first in India that was developed under a public-private partnership, funded by over a 10,000 NRIs. It was opened on the 10th of June 1999 and is the largest airport in the state of Kerala. It is also the state’s busiest and the country’s 7th busiest airport. It handled an approximate of 9 million passengers in the year 2016-17. Cochin Airport is the first airport in the world to be fully operated by solar energy.

Fort Kochi Beach, Mattancherry Palace, Bolghatty Palace, Jewish Synagogue, Palliport Fort, Santa Cruz Basilica, Vasco House, and Saint Francis Church are few interesting places to visit.
