Mangalore Airport, previously known as Bajpe Aerodrome, started its operations on 25th December 1951. It’s located at around 7 km from Mangalore city center and is one among the two international airports in Karnataka apart from Bangalore Airport. The international operations started in 2006 from this airport with its first flight to Dubai. A new integrated terminal was opened in 2010 that handles both domestic as well as international flights. The new terminal has the capacity to handle more than 500 passengers during peak hours.
