Porbandar Airport is a public airport situated in the state of Gujarat, only 5 km away from the city of Porbandar. Apart from being a public airport, it also hosts military aircraft. The INAS 343 of the Indian Navy and CGAE Porbandar of the Indian Coast Guard are the two military enclaves stationed at the Porbandar Airport. It is a relatively small airport with the airfield of 278.32 acres and a runway that spreads to a length of 4500 feet. In terms of passenger traffic, the airport handles an average of 100 arrivals and 100 departures at a time.
Porbandar is the birth city of Mahatma Gandhi and Sudama (famed friend of Lord Krishna). It is a coastal city in the state of Gujarat. The city offers extensive tourist destinations, such as Kirti Mandir, Tara Mandir, Ram Krishna Mission, Huzoor Palace, Porbandar Bird Sanctuary, and Khimeshwar Mahadev Temple, to name a few. The Janmashtami Mela, held in the month of Shravana, is one of the must-visit attractions of Porbandar.
