Surat Airport is located approximately 20 km from the city center in Magdalla, Gujarat. The airport covers an area of 770 acres and is home to commercial aircrafts, private aircrafts, as well as serves as the training school for flying. The airport has seen the number of footfall doubling in the recent years. In the financial year 2016-2017, the annual passenger traffic was calculated as 194,688 as compared to 94,824, growing by 105.3 %. The airport caters to around 11 direct flights in a day to various parts of the country.
