Delhi to Dhumdar Kandi Pass Trekking Tour

Itinerary of Dhumdar Kandi Pass Trek

Day 1:Delhi to Dehradun

Distance:Depending on the medium of traveling
Reach till Dehradun from New Delhi or any other place in the country or outside. Arrive a day before your trek journey begins.

Day 2: Dehradun to Uttarkashi

Distance:143km/7 hrs
Travel from Dehradun to Uttarkashi via Mussoorie. You can stay at Uttarkashi and do some shopping, as Uttarkashi is the last town where you can shop for yourself. Stay overnight at Uttarkashi.

Day 3: Drive Uttarkashi to Jhala (2100m) and trek to Dorangatto (3400m)

Distance:Uttarkashi to Jhala 60km(2.5hrs) and trek to Dorangatto 3 to 4 hrs.
Start the drive till Jhala from Uttarkashi on the road towards Gangotri an approx 2.5 hrs journey. Walk for half an hour up to Sian Gad, from there continue on a three-hour hike through a lush green valley with the views of Mt Gangotri, Mt.Joanli in the background.

Day 4: Dorangatto to Kiarkoti (3525m)

Distance:4 to 5 hrs trek
Start with a steep climb of about 45 min which becomes gradual after a while. Stay overnight in the midst of the green campus of Kiarkoti.

Day 5: Kiarkoti to Wodar (4051m)

Distance:3 to 4 hrs trek
Walkthrough the boulders and patches of snow gullies. The terrain has a few steep sections in between but mostly a gradual hike.

Day 6: Wodar to Sirkey Thathar (4600m)

Distance:5 hours trek
You will reach the glacier after an hour of walking through the boulder fields. It can be a long day, so rest nicely at camp.

Day 7: Cross Dhumdhar Kandi Pass (5490m) and descend to Dharali ki Udiari(4750m)

Distance:9 to 10 hrs trek
Start by depending upon the snow condition, try to begin by dawn. The trail is gradual with very humps in the midst till the last leg below the pass. The pass is to be climbed by fixing ropes, a knife-edged pass it is. Once you reach the top you can see the Banderpooch massif, Kalanag, and Swargarohini. The first section of the descent is steep after which it eases out.

Day 8: Dharali ki Udiari to Ruinsara Lake (3350m)

Continue your descend and walk through the vast snowfield until the end of the glacier. Set up your camp by the extremely beautiful Ruinsara Lake.

Day 9: Ruinsara Lake to Dev Thatch(3000m)

Move along the dense forest wonderful meadows and set up the camp at night.

Day 10: Dev Thatch to Bheduka (1815m)

Trek downhill through many mountain villages en route. You can stay overnight in these villages.

Day 11: Bheduka to Taluka Drive to Sankri

Reach atTaluka where the trek ends, book a vehicle and move on toSankri which is a drive of one hour.

Day 12: Sankri to Dehradun

Head on your way from Sankri to Dehradun and further travel back to New Delhi or any other place that you came from.
